Polish Citizenship by Descent

INTRODUCTION

Polish citizenship by descent is a formal procedure that confirms citizenship based on your ancestral line. Done correctly, it leads to a citizenship confirmation decision and—after that—your Polish passport and full EU rights.

What we do: we analyze eligibility, build the evidence plan, coordinate archival research, prepare and file the case, manage translations, and guide the process through the authorities—step by step, with clear milestones and transparent payments aligned with progress.

  • Exclusively for: people with Polish or Polish‑Jewish ancestry who want a serious, evidence‑driven process.
  • How we work: precise, realistic, and focused on documents that actually move the case forward.
  • What we need from you: honest family history and timely cooperation when documents are requested.

When we accept a case for processing, it means the line is ELIGIBLE based on our 20+ years of experience and thousands of cases handled. However, we cannot guarantee a positive outcome in advance. You do not apply to us or through us—you apply directly to the relevant Polish government authorities with our legal assistance.

Quality over volume: we accept for processing, on average, about 1 out of 10 potential clients, and we handle a maximum of 2–3 new cases per month to ensure proper attention and results.

International expert network: our team includes multiple specialists working across several countries. We have cooperated for many years with trusted researchers, archivists, translators, and legal partners to build evidence where it actually exists.

Client‑owned case philosophy: your case belongs to you—your documents, your information, and your decisions. We guide, advise, and execute legal work, but you remain the owner of the file and the person who decides how to proceed at each step.

Core policy: transparency, timely communication, and honest pricing.

We have also taken over and successfully finished many cases that other providers completely failed—especially complex files with missing evidence.

HOW TO START

Start in three simple steps using the buttons at the top:

  1. CITIZENSHIP TEST — quick eligibility signal and key risk flags.
  2. FAMILY TREE — the ancestry map we use to verify the line and plan documents.
  3. BOOK CONSULTATION — a serious review of your situation, timeline, and next actions.

Use the buttons at the top: CITIZENSHIP TEST → FAMILY TREE → BOOK CONSULTATION

PRE-1920 EMIGRATION

Despite the wrong and very misleading information on other service providers websites:

Leaving before 1920 does NOT automatically make you ineligible. Under the 1920 Citizenship Act, people connected to territories that later became part of independent Poland could acquire Polish citizenship based on the right of residence.

Particularly, emigration cases from before 1920 are the most difficult to prove and the most complex.

What makes these cases difficult: the key evidence is often indirect and must be built from multiple sources (civil acts, residence records, military/consular records, church books, passports, local registers, and archival confirmations).

  • Proof of connection to relevant territory (place of birth / residence / family ties).
  • Evidence of right of residence / domicile (where available), or reliable substitutes.
  • Careful analysis of later events: marriages, relocations, and potential naturalization.

If your family left before 1920, you should expect a more demanding evidence plan—but this is exactly where experienced strategy matters most.

Very few services truly specialize in pre‑1920 (and even pre‑1900) emigration lines. We do—and we have successfully processed many such complex cases with an evidence‑driven strategy.

MONEY & TIME WISE

Polish citizenship by descent is a long‑range process. The authorities expect a complete, consistent evidence set—and the timing depends on case difficulty, document availability, and how fast the missing records can be obtained.

Realistic expectations today: any case of Polish citizenship by descent can take up to 4 (four) years of processing. The overall cost for the Polish citizenship procedure varies from 3,500 to 35,000 EUR per case (flat fee or installments scheme), depending on difficulty, complexity, and the documents available, number of persons and many other different specific factors.

In practice, we have handled cases completed in as little as 3 months, and cases that took over 12 years to accomplish.

  • Main cost drivers: missing Polish documents, pre‑1920 emigration, border changes, name variants, and naturalization evidence.
  • Separate items: translations, archival searches, civil acts, and other add‑ons are handled in due time (see DEEPER EXPLANATION).
  • How we keep it transparent: payments are aligned with milestones—so you always know what stage you are paying for.

We have also taken over—and successfully finished—many cases that others completely failed, by rebuilding the evidence plan and correcting the legal logic.

Please consider whether you are ready—both money‑ and time‑wise. Then we will assess the case and advise you on the next steps. We also strongly recommend avoiding providers who advertise a “fast and easy procedure,” so you do not end up paying advance fees for useless advice and wasting time.

Policy reminder: transparency, timely responses, and honest pricing are the core of our work—especially in long procedures where clarity prevents frustration and delays.

MILESTONES

Milestones are the checkpoints that structure the procedure. They reflect real work completed and keep payments and expectations transparent.

  1. CASE EVALUATION — we confirm eligibility signals and define the evidence plan.
  2. CONTACT OUR CLIENTS — portal access, communication setup, and case onboarding.
  3. POAs SIGNED — we receive the signed originals and open the official file.
  4. CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION FILED — the application is prepared and filed with the authorities.
  5. ARCHIVES SEARCH — coordinated retrieval of missing Polish records where needed.
  6. SENDING THE DOCUMENTS — evidence bundle preparation and submission strategy.
  7. POLISH CIVIL ACTS — civil registry applications when required (birth/marriage records).
  8. TRANSLATIONS — translations prepared, checked, and certified where required.
  9. INITIAL RESPONSE — first formal response from the authority and next instructions.
  10. ADDITIONAL DEMANDS — answering requests for additional evidence (if issued).
  11. APPEAL PROCEDURE — if needed, structured appeal handling within deadlines.

12. DECISION: you receive a positive decision confirming Polish citizenship by descent. We provide the official copy which is the most important part of the whole process superior to all.

  1. PASSPORT FILE — preparation of the full passport set and consulate requirements.
  2. SENDING DOCUMENTS TO YOU — we courier the complete package for your appointment.
  3. APPLYING FOR THE PASSPORT — you attend the consulate appointment and finalize issuance.

TRANSLATIONS SERVICE

Translations are not “just paperwork.” In citizenship cases, a mistranslation can change the meaning of a document (names, places, dates, status) and create inconsistencies that delay the case.

  • Step 1: we identify which documents actually need translation (not everything does).
  • Step 2: translations are prepared and checked for names, places, and historical terminology.
  • Step 3: when required, translations are certified by a Polish sworn translator for official filing.

Our standard: consistency across the entire evidence bundle—so the authorities can read your story without contradictions.

POLISH CIVIL ACTS

Polish civil acts (birth and marriage certificates in Poland) are often required to finalize your status in Polish records and to prepare for the passport stage.

  • When needed: when civil records must be registered or corrected in Poland, or when the passport stage requires Polish‑format acts.
  • What we do: prepare applications, submit to the Civil Registry Office (USC), and track the process until certificates are issued.
  • Outcome: official Polish certificates that align your documentation for future steps (PESEL/passport).

Civil acts work is handled in the correct sequence—only when it becomes relevant for your case and stage.

PASSPORT APPLICATION

After a positive citizenship confirmation decision, we prepare the complete passport application package and guide you through the consulate process.

  • Preparation: checklist, forms, photo requirements, and supporting documents—organized so your appointment is smooth.
  • PESEL (if needed): we advise on obtaining or confirming your PESEL number as part of readiness.
  • Consulate step: you appear in person for biometrics; we provide a ready‑to‑use package.

The citizenship decision is the core victory. The passport stage is the practical finalization—handled with the same precision and support.

DEEPER EXPLANATION

This document describes the citizenship procedure itself. In practice, strong cases are built by combining the core procedure with additional services that may be necessary depending on your situation.

Included in the core citizenship procedure:

  • Eligibility and line verification
  • Evidence strategy and document plan
  • Preparation and filing of the citizenship case
  • Case handling, correspondence, and milestone‑based progress tracking

All other relevant services—TRANSLATIONS, ARCHIVES SEARCH, POLISH CIVIL ACTS, NAME CHANGE, and PASSPORT APPLICATION—are charged separately, in due time.

Common questions:

  • Do I need original documents? Some items must be originals or certified copies—especially for later passport steps.
  • What if I have very few documents? That’s normal. We build the evidence plan and order missing records through the right channels.
  • What if my ancestor naturalized? Naturalization timing and details matter. We analyze it carefully because it can affect the line.

AT FIRST ONLY POAS

To formally start work, we first need Power of Attorney (POA) documents. POAs allow us to request records, communicate with offices, and manage official steps where representation is permitted.

At first we only need the signed POAs (HARD COPIES) sent by FedEx to our office in Warsaw.

  • We prepare the POA templates for you.
  • You sign as instructed and send the originals by courier.
  • Once received, we open the case and begin official work.

THE RULES

Citizenship cases succeed when expectations are clear and the cooperation is professional on both sides.

  • Timings: respond promptly to document requests to avoid delays.
  • Accuracy: provide truthful family history and disclose naturalization/military facts if known.
  • Communication: keep everything in one thread/channel when possible to prevent confusion.
  • Respect: complex cases require patience—pressure does not speed up authorities, evidence does.

We do NOT refund payments already made if someone stops or gives up mid‑process for any reason. However, we will refund in full if a case fails due to our mistakes.

What moves a case forward is proper cooperation, patience, and responsiveness—not stressing our team or Polish authorities. Evidence and timing move files; pressure does not.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Choose your path carefully. The difference between success and years of delay is usually not “luck”—it is evidence quality, correct legal logic, and consistent documents.

  • Be cautious with “fast and easy” marketing—citizenship by descent is never instant when done properly.
  • Always verify how a provider handles naturalization, border changes, and pre‑1920 lines.
  • Ask what exactly is included, what is charged separately, and how payments align with milestones.

Our recommendations are based on real client outcomes—not marketing claims. We have represented certain families for 10+ years, including multiple relatives and generations, and we continue to support them as new descendants apply.

For extremely difficult and complex cases, we can gladly provide client contact references (with their permission) so you can speak with people who faced comparable challenges and succeeded.

Client references for complex cases: with permission, we can provide contact details for clients who have successfully completed the full process—including very difficult pre‑1920 (and even pre‑1900) emigration cases—so you can hear directly what it took and what worked.

Ready to begin? CITIZENSHIP TEST → FAMILY TREE → BOOK CONSULTATION

How we deliver quality: we intentionally limit new cases (2–3 per month) and accept only a small share of potential clients. This is how we keep the work precise, responsive, and outcome‑focused—while you remain the owner of the case and decisions.

Coming soon: our full Polish Citizenship Portal—a completely new online legal service with an approach and technology that none offers today. It will cover eligibility assessment, document classification, archives search, translations, forms, applications, and connections to relevant Polish government institutions for real‑time independent updates.

Difficult cases are demanding—but manageable and successful with the right evidence, sequencing, and cooperation. It is not cheap, but it is worth it: citizenship for life, with the ability to pass it to the next generations.
